I think this class is absolutely wonderful and would recommend this class to any new Mom! It was so nice to meet other Moms with babies around the same age and hear about what they're going through, because everyone has their own set of challenges and it helps so much to hear what others are going through too!

2 years ago my son was born and I'm sure I would have gone insane without this class! Nobody (not even the best husband/sponsor who is with you through the whole thing) can really understand what you are going through as well as other brand-new Moms can. The classes were such a great way to ensure I got out of the house and for me to be able to express what I was going through without being judged and to learn... a ton! from other Moms and from Kathy. Whenever things were tough, all the moms would reach out to the other moms for ideas... support... understanding... friendship. Especially during the first 6 months when things are constantly changing with the babies and there is so much to quickly learn. Don't worry... it does get easier though! :)

2 years later and we're all still friends and there is nothing better than watching our kids intereact because they all hit the same stages at about the same time and just "get" each other and have the best time together. Since Owen goes to daycare, our Mommy Group time is some fun time that we get to spend together and to talk about. We have pictures on our fridge of all the Moms, Dads and little friends and it's just one of the best things we could have done for him and for us as a family! We have the cutest pictures from their 1st and 2nd birthdays! It fun to watch the other little kids grow up, as well as your own of course. It's not as easy to get together now that we're all back to work but we still get together at least once a month and it's always easy to get right back to where we were when we saw each other more often.

I tell all my friends (who mostly live in other cities) to find something similar to Serentiy Birth Studios in their city but you know..... there just doesn't seem to be anything like it (that I've heard of). It's one of the reasons I'm glad we moved to Barrie. :)

If you're worried about the money... I suggest you give up something else that you do to pamper yourself for a bit and spend money on this instead because the benefits are huge and last much longer! (Posted on 7/26/10)

Having a new baby can be such an overwhelming experience, with many new twists and turns that made me left with a lot of anxiety. Signing up for the class gave me the push I needed to get out of the house, and put us in an open and welcoming environment with a whole room full of Moms and Baby’s that were in the same boat as us. We could even breast feed without having to worry about who was looking!

The class made me more confident in the things I was doing at home, when I heard other people in the class talk about what they were doing too. It also made me more confident in putting the baby in the car seat and going out into the world, if I could do it for class - I could do it for anything.

Kathy is very knowledgeable, and very warm and friendly. She knows just what you need to hear, and is always happy to answer your questions.

Best of all - you will meet a new group of people to stay in touch with once the class is finished. Our class is just finishing up now, and already we have been on walks down by the lake, coffee, and even the movies!

I would highly recommend this course to first time Mommy's to be!

I spent so much time at the hospital after my premature son was born that I had the advantage of having nurses and lactation consultants available constantly for questions and I thought what if I had to do this all alone not really knowing anything about being a new mom? Kathy's 4th trimester class is the answer! You share experiences with other new mom's, make friendships and bonds that have the potential to last a lifetime, and you have Kathy's expertise available to you as you go though the trials and tribulations of motherhood. It is a perfect gateway to venturing from the home, having freedom to breastfeed and snuggle with your baby while you share and I highly recommend this class to every new mom! (Posted on 6/24/10)

This class is fantastic!

I first went when my daughter was just 2 weeks old. I was anxious about going out of the house with her alone. But the class gave us a practice destination. Just the event of getting out of the house alone, was good for us. Better still, meeting the other women in the class and discussing our commonalities was both reassuring and informative. I had all my questions answered and I learned and I made a few new friends. Also I was exposed to Dunstan Baby language and other useful parenting tools that I would not have even known about otherwise.
This class really bolstered our our experience together as Mother and Daughter and gave us the perfect start to our journey.

I recommend you sign yourself up! It's certainly worth every penny!

After taking Lamaze class at Serenity I decided to sign up for the 4th Trimester class...I am extremely glad that I did! I had just had my first baby and like everyone else going through this experience...it’s totally different from what you expect it to be! It was great meeting up with these women every week who were going through the same things that I was...lack of sleep, sore boobs, anxiety, etc. We all shared our birth stories with each other and each week talked about what we were going through, and Kathy was there to teach us new things and best of all to answer any questions we had...and we had many! There are a lot of quesitons when you are a new Mom and the books just don't have all the answers. Kathy used to put me at ease and make me feel a lot better about any problems that I was having, or doubts that I had. She ROCKS!

After the class ended we each took turns hosting and we ended up doing that until the end of the year...when we all had to go back to work! We had a 1st Birthday celebration with all of the babies and it was great.

It has been almost 5 years since I took the 4th Trimester class and two of the girls that I met during the class are best friends of mine, our families spend a lot of time together and it’s because of Kathy’s class that we have these awesome relationships! We all have two kids now and our 'babies' that we met because of are all just wrapping up their first year of JK! It goes by so fast!!!!

The most important aspect of the 4th Trimester class is that you get to share stories and meet other new Moms that are going through what you going through! You NEED this as a New Mom!
