A natural analgesic, Baltic Amber will have a calming and soothing effect on a baby without resorting to over the counter drugs and remedies during teething. An amber teething necklace is not designed to be chewed on by a baby! When a baby is teething and the amber teething necklace is worn on the skin, the skin's warmth releases healing oils from the amber (a resin) which are absorbed via the skin into the bloodstream. Unlike teething gels, powders or pain relief syrups, the traditional beaded amber necklaces imported from the Baltic region are a less intrusive remedy for teething pain and side effects of teething, such as drooling, lack of appetite, upset tummies, earache, fevers and colds.

Our amber teething necklaces are handmade from natural high quality Genuine, Authentic Baltic amber, by Lithuanian artists. Amber is not a stone and therefore warm to the touch, as well as very comfortable and light to wear. The necklaces are knotted after every individual amber bead and the necklace fastens with a screw clasp, which is designed to break under extreme pressure. In the extremely unlikely event of the string being broken, only one bead will come off. The beads are light and small, each about the size of a pea. The bead is therefore too small for a baby or child to choke on. If a baby or child should swallow a bead from the necklace, it won't be harmful since it is completely non-toxic. 

WHAT IS BALTIC AMBER

Formed over 45 million years ago, Baltic amber is an organic substance, a “fossil resin” produced by pine trees which grew in Northern Europe - from southern regions of the present day Scandinavia and nearby regions of the bed of the Baltic Sea. The climate became warmer and trees started to exude big amounts of resin. Scientists say that amber is a fossil pine resin from this region that has achieved a stable state through oxidation. 

Babies can wear the amber necklace from birth through childhood. Babies should wear the amber necklace around their neck, for maximum teething relief, while they are with you. When unattended, the amber necklace should be removed from around their neck but can be wrapped around their ankle and tucked into a sleeper to maintain contact with the skin.
