Quick Overview

Is your baby suffering from a cold or ear infection?

Help them sleep well with…  Baby Bed Blocks®!

Purpose of Baby Bed Blocks®

  1. Pediatricians recommend elevating the head of the baby when it has an earache, cold, or acid reflux.  For earaches, elevating the head, helps drain the build up fluids away from the eardrum, which relieves the pressure in the ear.  With a cold or congestion, the elevation will help drain the congestion, which allows the baby to breath easier when it is lying down.  With acid reflux, the elevation helps keeps your baby’s food from coming back up and out of the stomach.

  1. When not aiding a sick baby to sleep, the unique colourful design of the blocks allow them to be used as stacking play-toys.

  1. When a sick baby is able to sleep, the parents are also able to sleep.  Baby Bed Blocks™ will help decrease the frequency of nighttime sleep interruptions.

How they work

Place up to three Baby Bed Blocks® under each leg at the top of the baby’s crib, and carefully check that the slope of the crib is just right, so that the baby does not slide down.  The flexibility of the blocks will help accommodate various elevations, so that you can adjust for the baby’s size and condition. Baby Bed Blocks™ can raise the crib to maximum of 10 cm (4 inches) and are suitable for most legs with a diameter of less than 7 cm (2.75 inches).

Why Baby Bed Blocks® are better than other options

Pillows:   The Canadian Pediatric Association strongly advises against having pillows and other pillow like items in a crib as it reduces the risk of SIDS.

Books:  It is very common to use books to raise the head side of the baby’s crib; however, because all books are not of the same thickness, the bed may be raised unevenly which will make the crib unstable.
